The Guangdong Museum is located in the heart of Zhujiang New Town, Guangzhou, and is a national first-class comprehensive cultural landmark. Designed by an international architectural firm, the building’s exterior draws inspiration from traditional Lingnan lacquer boxes and hollow ivory carving techniques. Featuring a suspended “cultural treasure chest” design, its unique metal facade showcases the distinctive characteristics of Lingnan culture, establishing it as an iconic cultural landmark in South China. Wholetops supplied aluminum facade for the building, including geometric hollow dark gray aluminum panels and embedded red decorative aluminum panels. Through a design that combines 3D embossed and recessed shapes with solid and hollow panels, the building recreates the layered textures of traditional Lingnan carvings, giving the exterior both cultural character and modern aesthetic appeal. The dark gray aluminum panels soften natural light, minimizing its impact on the exhibits inside the museum. At the same time, the products’ excellent weather resistance effectively withstands the effects of the coastal climate, enhancing the building’s artistic expression while ensuring the protection of cultural relics.
